Kirtan Concert Fundraiser Benefits The Brad Kaminsky Foundation for Brain Tumor Research

Join Kirtan Chant artist David Newman (Durga Das) and vocalist/percussionist Mira for kirtan fundraiser concert in honor of David’s cousin, Brad Kaminsky, & Brain Tumor Awareness Month. Kirtan is a joyful evening of inspiring call and response chanting. David’s unique sound combines his deep respect for India’s ancient chant tradition with his progressive musical vision.
Durga Das will ead “The Yoga of Sound and the Power of Chant”: Kirtan & Workshop, a rich exploration into the art of kirtan. We will delve into the healing power of mantras, the opening of the chakras through sound, chanting as meditation and the teaching of the saints and scriptures of the nature of Love as a spiritual path.

Inner Fire Yoga Workshop

Join David for inspirational blend of yoga, chanting, and meditation for a unified experience of
healing and grace. It is a practice that uses asana, breath, sound and silence as support for
spiritual growth and awakening. We will explore the beautiful dance of sound and silence and
the flow between movement and stillness. Inner Fire Yoga is a journey that begins with kirtan
chanting, flows easefully into a heart centered asana practice and concludes with a chakra
opening meditation. It is a healing journey that will guide your body into bliss, open your
heart to love and bring your mind to peace. David will be joined by is wife Mira, a gifted
devotional vocalist and percussionist.

The Inner Fire Meditation Workshop

Inner Fire Meditation is a seven stage journey including invocation, purification, ascension, unification, expansion, integration and affirmation. It works with mantra, pranayama, the chakras, visualization, grace, devotion and prayer. As the title implies, it is meditative technology that leads the practitioner, step by step, from the personal to the universal, from the ordinary to the extraordinary. A state of grace evolves and a powerful exchange of spiritual energy is channeled through the individual, and then offered back as a healing prayer to loved ones and humanity.

Yoga Playgrounds with Leah Kalish

Leah Kalish, MA, is an educator, yoga teacher, and national speaker / trainer for health and empowerment through yoga and creative play. As former Program Director of Yoga Ed., she co-created all Yoga Ed. curriculums, trainings and products.
She co-authored the Yoga Pretzel and Planet Decks for Barefoot Books and the Yoga Kit for Kids for Imaginazium, and is the featured instructor in Gaiam’s Yoga Fitness for Kids videos. Level 1 for Children PreK - Grade 5 (ages 4-10) Learn fun and effective ways to design and present yoga to children at home, school, yoga studio and beyond.

This training offers a template for how to map out class series and build individual lessons that transform yoga practices into playgrounds of self-discovery. Inspire and support kids in the development of important life skills such as mind-body awareness, connectedness to inner wisdom and resources, physical fitness, emotional stability, authentic self-confidence and the ability to internally self-regulate through the playful exploration of yoga themes such as breathing, alignment, focus, flexibility, kindness, teamwork, resilience, finesse and so much more.

Girl Scouts Only: Girl Power

Celebrate Earth Day through Girl Power & Empowerment. Honor Mother Earth in the true Yoga tradition - through meditation, education, reflection and community. Join us in celebrating our earth through nature related yoga poses, mindfulness meditations, and group games. Daisies, Brownies & Junior Girl Scouts will connect with Earth through playful yoga poses, movement & games. Cadettes, Seniors, & Ambassadors will learn how to develop a more personal relationship with Mother Earth and learn how one person can make a difference in protecting the earth, our precious home.
